Some of the great oppositions/contrasts/ in life are separated by a very thin line: life and death, truth and falsehood, holy and profane, love and hate, peace and war, public and private, the real and the ideal, the hidden and the exposed, religious and secular. This exhibit asked these questions of our existence, using Jewish sources, history and texts as a basis. Where are we in relationship to that fine line? Artists Heddy Abramowitz, Andi Arnovitz, Yoel Gilinsky, Nechama Golan, Ken Goldman, Ruth Kestenbaum Ben--Dov, Shimon Lev, Judith Margolis, Lilach Schrag and Ruth Schreiber explored these lines of our existence –a rich variety of themes in a range of media, revealing the power of art to express the human condition.
