Curators: Anne Hromadka & Georgia Freedman-Harvey (Los Angeles)
7,567MI→ is an exhibition that explored the physical, spiritual, and cultural connections between Los Angeles and Jerusalem by the members of the Los Angeles based Jewish Artists Initiative (JAI). The Biennale2015 created a unique lens through which to explore the ways our modern Jewish experiences were both similar and different, even though the two cities are separated by 7,567 miles. JAI is an artist-run organization, committed to fostering visual art by Jewish artists, and promoting dialogue about Jewish identity among members of the arts community. The works selected for this exhibition were all created for the exhibition and selected though a juried process. The exhibition is co-curated by Georgia Freedman-Harvey and Anne Hromadka, both curators who live and work in the Los Angeles area. Georgia is currently the curator for the Platt/Borstein Galleries, American Jewish University, and Anne is the curator at Hebrew Union College - JIR, Los Angeles.
